Keep the conversation on your phone
The Palmkin app processes text with a local model, without a Palmkin login or a hidden switch to cloud AI. Saved app data is encrypted. A screen lock still matters: encryption cannot protect every unlocked or compromised phone.
Decide what is remembered
Memory is off by default. Enabling it includes limited automatic saving of clearly stated personal facts from your own messages. You can review, edit and delete them.
Switching memory off stops learning and use, but does not erase saved entries. Deleting a chat does not delete a separate memory or an independent branch of that chat.
Keep different contexts apart
Project facts stay with their project. Temporary chats, imported sources, assistant replies and fictional exercises are not used to learn personal memories.
Understand temporary chats
Temporary chats stay out of ordinary history, memory learning and conversation backups. They may use temporary encrypted storage until cleanup. Screenshot protection cannot prevent an external camera or every copy or recovery method.
Know what a backup contains
Encrypted conversation backups include saved messages and the context and answer choices that belong to them. They exclude photos, imported files and source references, models, device keys, personal memories, project organisation and temporary chats.
Imported text already saved in a message can be included as message content. Keep original files separately and manage exported copies wherever you store them.
Notice when data leaves the phone
Model downloads contact an external download service. The optional web-search concept would send your chosen query or page address and connection information to outside services; local summarising would not make the search private.
The internet setting starts offline. The on-request choice asks approval for each query or address; allowing internet permits requests within the chosen web feature, while temporary chats still ask. Other apps and file services have their own connections and privacy rules.
